HOE ZIET MOBILITEIT ER IN 2088 UIT?
Het ligt nog ver voor ons, maar een aantal deskundigen durven al te speculeren over hoe personenvervoer er in 2088 uit zal zien. Gaan we zwaartekracht overwinnen of zelfs teleporteren? ...

What is information?
A very neat and original animated infographic film about the concept of information. It was created by Maya Design, a design consultancy and technology research lab. Although most of us think we know what we mean when we say "information," the movie claims we sometimes confuse the medium with the message.

The future of design is human-centered
Low-key and thoughtful, IDEO founder David Kelley seems the antithesis of the "design star" -- and indeed, he says that product design, within the past two decades, has become much less about the design and more about the user who'll be experiencing it. In this classic 2002 talk, he shares some video of products coming out of IDEO, including Prada's famous high-tech dressing rooms, "Dilbert's ultimate cubicle," and a gotta-have-it gadget called Spyfish. He finishes by discussing a project he's passionate about: ApproTEC -- now called KickStart -- offering designs that give Kenyans the means to end poverty.

FROM CENTRE POMPIDOU TO AIR MAX
Just found this video on youtube about the inspiration for Nike's revolutionary Air Max 1s (you know, the shoes with the air cushion you can see). Turns out, it all started with a trip to the art museum.
"When you sit down to design something--and it can be anything: a car, a toaster, a house, a tall building, a shoe--what you design is a culmination of everything you've seen and done in you life up to that point."

WII REMOTE HACKS - JOHNNY CHUNG LEE
Johnny Lee demos his amazing Wii Remote hacks, which transform the $40 game piece into a digital whiteboard, a touchscreen and a head-mounted 3-D viewer. Since the Wiimote can track sources of infrared (IR) light, you can track pens that have an IR led in the tip. By pointing a wiimote at a projection screen or LCD display, you can create very low-cost interactive whiteboards or tablet displays. Since the Wiimote can track upto 4 points, up to 4 pens can be used. It also works great with rear-projected displays.

GOOGLE VISUALISATION API
a new Google Visualization API, based on the powerful visualization techniques from GapMinder. the API is "designed to make it easier for a wide audience to make use of advanced visualization technology, & do so in a way that makes it quick and easy to integrate with new visualizations."
next to the classical methods, the amount of new visualization techniques is quite impressive & include motion charts (a la Gapminder), flashy 3D funnels, pyramids, pie & donuts, time series charts (a la Google Finance), data gauges, geographical heat maps & Gantt charts.

Do schools today kill creativity?
A must-see for every parent and teacher. Education guru Sir Ken Robinson makes an entertaining (and profoundly moving) case for creating an education system that nurtures creativity, rather than undermining it. Sir Ken Robinson is author of "Out of Our Minds: Learning to be Creative," and a leading expert on innovation in education and business. (Recorded February, 2006 in Monterey, CA.)

CRAYON PHYSICS DELUXE
Crayon Physics Deluxe is a sequel to the popular freeware game Crayon Physics. Or you can think of it as the game I would have created if I would have had more than 7 days to do it. Way more than 7 days. More like 7 months or 17 months.
Anyway Crayon Physics Deluxe is a 2D physics puzzle game, in which you get to experience what it would be like if your drawings would be magically transformed into real physical objects. Solve puzzles with your artistic vision and creative use of physics.
The game features:
* Greatly improved physics (you can draw what ever you want)
* Huge number of new levels
* Easy to use level editor
Also you can test the original prototype which is freely available. But please understand that the prototype isn’t a demo version of this game and doesn’t reflect the quality of Crayon Physics Deluxe.
